The middle of Waller County is only 25 miles west of the Houston city limits on U.S Hwy 290 and the southern end is about the same distance on Interstate 10. The population is about 26,600 people and with U.S Hwy 290 now bypassing the small towns and traffic jams virtually ended, it is growing rapidly as it becomes a bedroom community for Houston. Waller has an excellent school system and a number of churchs and several good antique shops.
